At Pitch In For Baseball & Softball, we believe every child deserves the chance to play, regardless of their circumstances. This year, we had the pleasure of supporting the Sterling Baseball Organization in Sterling, CO, where a young player named Tyler, just 9 years old, embarked on his first baseball season.
Tyler’s family relies on assistance programs, receiving free/reduced lunch and participating in special programs through the school district. Without our equipment donation and the generous support of SBO, Tyler wouldn’t have had the opportunity to play this year due to financial constraints.
Thanks to the donated gear, Tyler not only stepped onto the field but also transformed throughout the season. Initially shy and uncertain about his skills, he blossomed into a confident player, supported by his teammates. Parents noted the remarkable connections he formed with peers, something they’d never seen before.
With the registration fee waived by SBO and the right equipment in hand, Tyler’s journey in baseball has just begun. He may have started unsure, but he’s now eager to return next year, excited for what lies ahead.
