On July 3, 2015, The New York Yankees held a press conference during which Zack Hample, the fan who retrieved Alex Rodriguez’s 3,000th hit on June 19, presented the ball to Rodriguez, and the Yankees presented Pitch in for Baseball & Softball with a donation of $150,000.
With those funds, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball and the Yankees are teaming up to support baseball and softball programs in the Bronx.
The Bronx school program launched on February 24th at Yankee Stadium. PIFBS and the Yankees fully equipped 10 baseball and softball teams with all the gear needed for the 2016 season. The Bronx school program is helping 150 kids get on the field.
