7/12/18 Update – Special thanks to our friends at Triple Crown Sports for helping to coordinate the equipment collection project! PIFS was able to collect over 100 pieces of softball equipment! Thank you to all of the generous donors who came out to support PIFS and help more girls around the world play softball!
Pitch In For Softball is thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with Triple Crown Sports for a large scale equipment collection project! The equipment collection will take place at the annual Colorado 4th of July tournament – one of the largest softball events in the world. With over 900 teams participating, Pitch In For Softball has made an appeal for each team to bring one equipment bag filled with softball gear to donate to PIFS. PIFS is thrilled to have an opportunity to team up with Triple Crown Sports to collect much needed softball equipment to meet our growing demand.
All participating teams will have an opportunity to drop off their gear at either Sparkler Festival Night (June 27th at the Christopher Complex) or Fireworks Festival Night (June 28 at the Aurora Sports Park). The Festival Nights give all teams a chance to come together and enjoy and electric night of activities and fun – look for three-time US Olympian and PIFS board member, Crystl Bustos!
In addition to collection much needed fastpitch equipment, PIFS and Triple Crown are excited about the opportunity to provide a vehicle to teach and expose players to a charitable opportunity that is meaningful to them. Collectively, PIFS and Triple Crown are hoping that the incoming equipment donations will be enough to benefit 150 teams in under-resourced communities in the United States and around the world.
