Williamsport Area Little League is located in an economically-challenged area, and applied for an equipment grant from PIFBS in 2020 in hopes of re-establishing a strong league.
One player was new to the league and was small for his age. He had outdated equipment compared to the other players, who had their own new gear. The coaches took notice, and informed the boy that they had new equipment on the way that he would soon be able to use. Once the new gear arrived, the boy brightened up and seemed more comfortable fitting in with his new peers. A coach noticed that he was hitting harder and better with his new bat, and the gear definitely boosted his confidence and his abilities.
