A 5-year-old boy came to the field at Schenectady Little League and had no equipment. His mom reached out and was interested in signing the boy up for the rookie program, and the league was able to give him everything he needed to play, including a helmet, glove, bat, and cleats! Since the equipment grant also included uniforms, the league was able to waive the registration fee completely. The boy was shy on his first day, but by the last game he was running the bases like he had been playing for years!
