Nittany Valley Little League baseball and softball in Zion, PA, received equipment grants in 2020. All of their equipment had been recently impacted by a flood due to a broken water pipe and the league was looking to replace the damaged gear.

The equipment grant did just that, and was also used to make sure each player had their own batting helmet, bat, and catcher’s equipment due to COVID-19 protocols enacted by the NVLL and the PA Department of Health.

The baseballs they received were used to help the younger players with batting practice. Different colored dots were drawn on some of the baseballs to help players track the baseball and to increase their rate of contact with the ball, helping boost their confidence.
