Orion Girls Softball, located in Lake Orion, Michigan, received an equipment grant from PIFBS in 2020.

Before the season, a lot of the league’s equipment was broken, old, and worn, and they wanted to offer a better experience for the 120 kids in their softball program.

The 2020 season was one girl’s first year playing softball. She decided to play because some of her friends played, and she wanted to give it a try. The girl quickly became one of the better players on her team, and her coaches saw so much improvement from her throughout the season. The equipment the league received allowed for each player on the team to have their own helmet as well, allowing the girls to play ball safely despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
