Glen Oaks Magnet High School softball in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, received an equipment grant from PIFBS in 2020.

Head coach Ashley Williams began working for the school in 2016, and started the softball program from the bottom up three years later. She borrowed equipment and worked to build the program despite a lack of resources, and she applied for a PIFBS grant at the beginning of 2020.

Although COVID-19 ended up cutting the season short, the team had a chance to benefit from the equipment donations prior to the shutdown. Neveah was really helped by the catchers equipment and new gloves. She had been using a small glove, and often had trouble holding onto the ball. The new glove helped her build confidence behind the plate and greatly improved her catching ability.
