Carrick Youth Athletic Association received an equipment grant in 2020 as part of the Pirates Charities and Tull Family Foundation program, which provided baseball and softball gear to 20 leagues in Pennsylvania and one program in West Virginia.

CYAA is a non-profit organization designed to introduce, teach and develop the fundamentals of baseball and softball to local youth in the Pittsburgh area, ranging in ages from 4-18. The organization aims to teach its children respect, discipline, and good sportsmanship. More than 300 kids total participate in their baseball and softball programs.

Due to Covid-19,  the league was only able to have seven teams in 2020, which was significantly fewer than in previous years. They were unable to do their yearly fundraisers, which bring in money to pay for equipment for both the children and the fields, funds to stock the concession stand, pay for umpires, and for their end of year picnic and celebration games. With the donation of baseballs, softballs, and other equipment, the league was able to have an opportunity to have a mini-season in 2020.
