Pitch In For Baseball & Softball is pleased to announce that the organization has received GuideStar’s 2020 Platinum Seal of Transparency.
GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. The site’s purpose is to provide unbiased information, helping donors and key stakeholders make educated decisions about nonprofits and the work they do.
The Platinum Seal is GuideStar’s highest level. This recognition demonstrates a commitment to transparency. It requires that the nonprofit provide metrics demonstrating progress and results, answering impact questions such as goals, strategies, and progress, financial information, areas served, and other organizational information.
Over the past 15 years, PIFBS has expanded programming and partners to help more than 900,000 children play ball in every state in the U.S. and more than 100 countries internationally.
A global nonprofit, PIFBS is the official equipment distribution partner of Little League International, USA Baseball, the MLB RBI program, and the MLB Players Association, completing more than 600 projects each year.
In 2019, 71% of students in the programs served showed improved test scores, and 70% showed increased attendance.
PIFBS strives to remove the barrier of equipment costs and bring the game of baseball/softball to boys and girls around the world. The game serves as a powerful vehicle for youth development, teaching life lessons and self-confidence, giving kids positive role models, and bringing communities together.
