Summertime is here, and with it, we have baseball, softball, BBQ and celebrations all around us. June has been a busy month for the PIFBS team, and we want to take a moment to look back on some of our recent highlights for the month.
Amazin’ Mets are helping kids play ball!
PIFBS partnered with the Amazin’ Mets Foundation to provide equipment to programs in the five boroughs of NYC, Long Island, as well as the New Jersey area! Valued at over $125,000, a total of 75 team kits were donated to baseball, softball, and tee-ball programs to help these kids play ball!
Baseball in the Bronx was a Hit!
PIFBS celebrated a night out at Yankee Stadium! Thank you to all of those that attended, it was a huge success. And a special thanks to the New York Yankees for generously donating a luxury suite and showing our new video!
Lunch With An All-Star
This past month, we were honored to be the beneficiary from Signature Bank of New York’s luncheon with Keith Hernandez. Our CEO, Meredith Kim, had the pleasure to meet the 5x All-Star and current Mets broadcaster. We are honored to be the beneficiary of this event!
The Annabelle Forever Young Foundation
The Annabelle Forever Young Foundation recently held a donation drive in Berkley Heights, NJ for PIFBS. Thanks to their generous donation and the work they do within their community, their support will go a long way in helping those who need it most! Who We’ve Helped This Month
Bear, 12, played for a team that was unable to replace their catcher’s gear for years, causing the worn out shin guards to fall off and make him frustrated while catching. After receiving a new set of catcher’s gear through an equipment grant from PIFBS, Bear was able to make quicker plays at the plate, which improved his skills and confidence.
Kolten was one of the many recipients of equipment through Granville Little League in New York. He used the equipment he was given and helped his team win his league championship. He never got discouraged despite being setback by not having good equipment.
Dayton Softball received a PIFBS equipment grant this year. One of the recipients showed up to practice without equipment. From this donation, she was given her own glove. This glove helped make her feel like a part of the team! As she became more comfortable with her new glove, she became a role model for her teammates. This new motivation encouraged her to improve her skills both on the field and in the classroom!
The Switzerland County Varsity Softball Team was a recent PIFBS equipment grant recipient. With the donation that they received, these women developed a better sense of pride, accountability, and a greater opportunity for success. Thanks to the batting tees, her players were able to further develop their swing!
Help kids around the world play ball!
As always, we thank our generous donors, supports, and partners for all the contributions of time, money, and equipment so all kids, regardless of economic background, can benefit from the game. Donate today, and help support youth development through baseball and softball.
