Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute

Mac (Minneapolis, MN) was in his first year playing wheelchair softball. One of Mac’s biggest challenges was learning how to bat. Mac started with a heavier bat but had no luck until he started to use a bat from a PIFBS equipment that was lighter weight. Everything changed! By the end of the season Mac’s power improved, slugging more extra base hits. Mac hit his first home run! Mac was able to improve his softball skills and gain confidence in his ability to compete with his peers who have been playing wheelchair softball for many years. Mac is looking forward to next season where he hopes to continue to improve his batting skills and hopefully hit more home runs than this year.

Helping Kids Round First

This past summer, Helping Kids Round First (Nicaragua) competed in the @MLBRBI World Series for the first time ever!

PIFBS is proud supporter of @HKRFirst since 2020. Their resilience and passion to play the game of baseball is a true testament to the country of Nicaragua.

Remembering Bill Piszek

Pitch In For Baseball & Softball celebrates the life and legacy of founding Board member William Piszek, a long-time supporter of Little League International, champion for philanthropy, and Co-Chairman of the Copernicus Society of America.  He was 63 and is survived by his wife and children.

Bill was a native Philadelphian, Germantown Academy graduate, long-suffering Philly sports fan, and overall tremendous human being who dedicated his life to community and service. In 2004, Bill collected gloves to take to Poland and give to children to play the wonderful game of baseball, which became the idea that was the inspiration for Pitch In For Baseball & Softball.  From the very start, Bill was a loyal and consistent beacon for Pitch In For Baseball & Softball, the voice of reason, and the heart that fueled the organization.

We feel lucky to have had the chance to know him and to be part of his life.  We will miss him dearly and are forever grateful for his passion for the game and commitment to Pitch In For Baseball & Softball.

PIFBS Anniversary

Today, we are celebrating our 17th birthday! We are proud to support over 1 million kids play ball in 50 states and in over 110 countries. We could not have accomplished the work that we have without the help from our wonderful donors, partners, and programs throughout the years.

Who We’ve Helped This Month

Sierra Leone

This summer, PIFBS partnered with the Philadelphia Adult League Softball on their 10-day trip to donate equipment and introduce baseball to nearly 300 children in Sierra Leone. PALS is a terrific adult softball league that with a deep charitable focus. Give them a follow at @phillypals to check out the great work they do!

Impact Story – Clay County (Brazil, IN)

Clay County (Brazil, IN) had many kids in their program who started the season without their own gear. Unsure on how to supply these players, PIFBS supplied Clay County with an equipment grant! This donation ensured each kid had their own equipment and instilled a more inclusive environment for the ball players of Clay County Jr. Knights.
