September was a great month for PIFBS! Here’s a look back at our accomplishments.
Chip In Fore Baseball & Softball
Let’s start this off right with our biggest fundraising event to date. Our Topgolf outing in Northeast Philadelphia raised over $20,000! Almost 150 donors, sponsors, and friends, including Phillies announcer Ben Davis, came to chip away at our goal. These donations will help so many kids play ball in 2024! Thank you all so much!
International Summer Totals
We proudly report that our international programs swung for the fences this summer! Practically 100,000 pieces of equipment were donated to about 71,400 children in 12 countries, such as Jamaica, Israel, and Nigeria. The supplies donated are valued at over six million dollars! Thanks to everyone who helped give kids the global gift to play.
Happy Birthday to Ryan Reiber
On September 19th, we celebrated the birthday of our Grants Manager, Ryan Reiber! Ryan’s positivity and intelligence have been a welcome addition to our team this summer. We hope you enjoyed your birthday as much as your state championship run during your senior year of high school!
Donor Spotlight – Matt Atchley
Once again, Matt has gone to bat for kids who want to play ball but lack the proper resources. Our 2022 Youth Service MVP helped raise over $1,400 in donations from local businesses and major corporations. Thanks again, Matt!
Registered Project Donor – Luca Russo
For the second time, we thank Luca Russo for his registered project and tremendous donation to PIFBS. Luca wants to share his love of the game with as many people as possible, and his project will do just that.
Cracking the Bat with Jack
As someone who can’t imagine his life without baseball, Jack DeVirgilio’s goal is to ensure every kid can experience the thrill of the game. Through hard work and dedication, Jack completed a sizeable equipment collection for PIFBS that will help many kids play ball globally!
Impact Story – Ty’Von
Thanks to a bat and glove donation from PIFBS, Ty’Von played on a team for the first time this year. He gained confidence, improved his skills, and even hit his first home run! Whether he has a game scheduled or not, this excited young man can be found on the field playing ball. Ty’Von’s love for the game can easily be seen by the giant smile on his face.
