January at Pitch In For Baseball & Softball (PIFBS) was a month loaded with uplifting tales, proactive projects, and instances that spread joy to all participants. Here’s a retrospective glance at our remarkable January.

MVP Awards

PIFBS would like to kick off this year by sending a huge thank you to 2023’s most generous donors. In 2021, we established an annual awards program recognizing those who step up to the plate and help kids step onto the field. Thanks to these valuable partners, grantees, and ambassadors, over 207,000 kids were able to play ball last year!

Here are this year’s winners:

  • Rookie of the Year – All-Star Sports Academy
  • Equipment MVP – PIFBS Club at Mamaroneck High School
  • Fundraising MVP – Zander (Sherman Oaks, CA)
  • Equipment Donor MVP – Little League
  • Organizational MVP – MLB’s Player Trust
  • Equipment Grantee MVP – Krushers Fastpitch (Libby, MT)
  • Volunteer MVP Award – Citizens Bank
  • Softball Ambassador – Athletes Unlimited
  • Baseball Ambassador – Eloy Jiménez
  • Team MVP – Cleveland Guardians

Congratulations to all!

Helping the Dominican Republic Play Ball

Through a wonderful partnership with the Cleveland Guardians’ José Ramírez and Wilson Sporting Goods, we helped over 200 kids play ball! Young players in José’s hometown of Baní had the chance to attend a clinic that involved training drills and inspiring speeches from MLB players. After meeting the athletes, each kid received brand-new baseball equipment!

PIFBS also united with Klutch Sports to ensure that 500+ kids from Santo Domingo, DR could play their favorite game. MLB players Eloy Jiménez, Bryan De La Cruz, and Génesis Cabrera helped donate new bats, catcher’s gear, and other apparel to 100 teams. We are thankful to everyone involved for helping us bring the gift of baseball to the youth of the Dominican Republic!
