Staff Highlights – Chris Albright

As we move forward to 2023, PIFBS staff reflects on some of our favorite memories from 2022.

“My favorite memory from 2022 was partnering with the Twins Community for an equipment distribution event at Target Field. Being a part of a moment where students from the Twin Cities area received new gear and used it in the Minnesota Twins batting cages was a dream come true for many. It was so great to be able to help provide an authentic MLB experience for kids that deserved this opportunity.”- Director of Individual Giving, Chris Albright

Adam Mitzvah Project

When Adam isn’t cheering on the Oakland A’s, he’s likely playing baseball. He has been playing since he was four years old and it’s his favorite sport to play.

Adam has picked PIFBS as the beneficiary of his bar mitzvah project this year. For his bar mitzvah project, he would like to provide “tikkun olam” through the game of baseball. Thank you for your support, Adam!

Impact Story – Lillian

Lillian (Greenfield, OH) played in Mitchell Park Youth Sports League and participated in the 9-10 division MLB Pitch Hit and Run in 2022. Her and her team grew together and benefited from the equipment grant donation from PIFBS. Lillian and her team finished the season as the league champion and even her age division champion at Great American Ballpark!

What a way to finish the season, Lillian!

Reds Community Fund & St. Elizabeth Highlight

This year marks our 7th partnership project with the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund and Saint Elizabeth Healthcare to help kids play ball in the Cincinnati and Kentucky area!

We are excited to help provide $45,000 worth of equipment to 140 different teams, empowering 2000 kids to play the game we love.

Country Highlight – Panama

Coined Panama’s official national sport, PIFBS has proudly supported expanding baseball and softball there since 2007. With a rich baseball history, their love for the game dates back to the late 1800s. Panama will be participating in the World Baseball Classic this year. We are proud to help play a part in their love for the game.

MVP Announcement

We are excited to announce the 2nd Annual PIFBS Most Valuable Partner (MVP) Awards! These awards highlight the work that donors, grantees, partners, and ambassadors have done to help kids play ball in 2022. Please join us over the next few days in thanking them for their support!

MVP Rookie of the Year

The Cleveland Guardians are the winners of the 2022 PIFBS Rookie of the Year Award! This award is given to recognize a first-time donor, grantee, partner, or ambassador that played an integral part to helping kids remain on the field.

In partnership with the Cleveland Guardians, we distributed gear valued at over $86,000 to the City of Cleveland Department and Recreation.

We also teamed up with Guardians players Jose Ramirez and Oscar Gonzalez to help donate equipment to hundreds of kids in the Dominican Republic.

Congratulations to the Cleveland Guardians and thank you for your support!

MVP Organization Highlight

Philadelphia Adult League Softball (PALS) are the winners of the 2022 PIFBS Annual Organization MVP Award! This award recognizes an organization that played an integral part in helping kids remain on the field.

Last year, PALS received a PIFBS equipment grant to help introduce over 300 kids to softball in Sierra Leone for the first time.

Through their 2nd Annual Philly Cheesesteak Classic, PALS also raised over $1,800 for PIFBS!

Congratulations to PALS and thank you for your support!

Reds Distribution Recap

We are proud to have partnered with Reds Community Fund and St. Elizabeth Healthcare for our 7th project together that focuses on eliminating equipment as the barrier for students to play baseball and softball.

$45,000 worth of baseball and softball gear was donated to 19 high school and youth programs from the Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana area. We are happy to support these programs for their upcoming 2023 seasons!

MVP Equipment Grantee Highlight

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the PIFBS Equipment Grantee MVP is Saddle Brook Girls Softball! Their impact stories after receiving a PIFBS equipment grant highlight the power that sports have in terms of youth development.

A family had recently moved from Europe and their daughter was trying softball for the first time. Through an equipment grant donation from PIFBS, she was able to become comfortable learning the sport and her position. Over time, she made friends and even made the league’s All-Star game!

Congratulations Saddle Brook Girls Softball and thank you for providing an opportunity for girls to play softball in your community!
