A Message From Our CEO
Hello,
November is our month to say thank you, and October gave us plenty of reasons. Students like Ryland launched service projects and equipment drives. Families honored loved ones with memorial gifts. And our volunteers continue to give their time at our monthly drop-off days.
Next up is Chip In For Baseball & Softball, our biggest fundraiser of the year, on Sunday, November 15 at Topgolf King of Prussia. Every dollar raised that afternoon supports our 2027 programming, so more kids can start next season with the gear they need. I’d love to see you there.
In this edition, you’ll meet Maya, a high school softball player whose season started with donated gear in her coach’s office.
Thank you for loving this game as much as we do, and for making sure more kids get to play it.
With gratitude,
Meredith P. Kim
CEO, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball
P.S. Reach out to us for more information on how you can get involved or to share your ideas on spreading joy and unity through sports.

Equipment should never be a barrier to playing the game we love. By bidding on this exclusive collectible, you are directly funding gear grants for schools, leagues, and underserved communities around the world. The auction is open now through November 1. Place your bid and help us equip the next generation of ballplayers!
Impact Spotlight
A Team of Her Own
Maya’s dad played baseball in high school. Maya didn’t try out for softball in ninth grade, though. She figured she’d have to pay for her own equipment. Then she saw the donated gear in her coach’s office and realized she wouldn’t have to buy anything. She joined the team.
Softball gave Maya and her dad something to share. He started coming to her games and helping her practice at local parks on the weekends.
It changed how Maya saw herself, too. Like a lot of students early in high school, she struggled with self-image. Wearing a professional-grade uniform, funded by a donation, made her feel like a real athlete. That confidence carried off the field, where she went from feeling isolated to having a core group of supportive teammates.
For Maya, knowing the gear would be there was enough to get her on the field.
Monthly Highlights
September by the Numbers
In September, your support put gear in the hands of kids across the map.
- 3 countries
- 8 U.S. states and territories
- $100K+ in equipment donated
- 7,600+ kids supported
Every glove, bat, and helmet means another kid gets to step onto the field. Thank you for making it happen.
Thank You, Chase and Ryland
Chase donated a fantastic haul of baseballs, uniforms, gloves, helmets, cleats, catcher’s gear, and bats, all headed to young players who need them.
Ryland is preparing for his Bar Mitzvah next August and chose PIFBS for his Mitzvah Project. “From t-ball at age 4 to the Final Four at Cooperstown All Star Village, baseball has given me confidence, leadership, and lifelong lessons,” he says. He’s collecting new and gently used equipment through July 2027 and raising funds to get gear to kids who need it.
More than 100 students and community members organize equipment drives and fundraisers for PIFBS every year.
Honoring David LeRoy DeWolf
On September 26, family and friends gathered in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to celebrate the life of David LeRoy DeWolf, a devoted father, proud grandfather, and passionate youth coach. David’s family chose PIFBS for his memorial, and gifts in his honor have raised over $500 so more kids can get in the game he loved. Our thoughts are with his sons, Matthew and Jason, and the entire DeWolf family.
