A Message From Our CEO
Hello,
As summer begins, I’m reminded that some of the most meaningful moments in our work happen when communities come together to help kids play.
Over the past month, we’ve continued to see the power of partnerships, volunteers, equipment donors, and supporters making a difference for young athletes around the world. From community events and equipment collections to inspiring impact stories, every effort helps expand access to baseball and softball for the next generation.
One highlight this month has been our continued partnership with Diamond Nation. Throughout the summer, Diamond Nation is helping connect players, families, and supporters with opportunities to donate equipment and learn more about the work of Pitch In For Baseball & Softball. We’re grateful for their commitment to growing the game and helping more kids get on the field.
We’re also excited about what’s ahead. This summer brings additional equipment collection opportunities, special events, and a chance for PIFBS to participate in the MLB All-Star Village. We look forward to sharing more details soon.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Every donation, volunteer hour, and shared story helps create opportunities for young athletes who simply need the chance to play.
With gratitude,
Meredith P. Kim
CEO, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball

May Impact Snapshot
May was a BIG month for impact!
Thanks to our incredible supporters, PIFBS helped get equipment into the hands of kids and communities across the map.
In May, your support helped make this possible:
- 🌎 3 countries reached
- 🇺🇸 11 U.S. states supported
- 💰 Over $1 million in estimated equipment value donated
- 🙌 20,000 kids supported
That is more gloves, bats, helmets, balls, and opportunities for kids to step onto the field and play the game they love.
This is what impact looks like. Thank you for helping kids play ball.
Monthly Highlights
Diamond Nation – Growing the Game Together
This summer, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball is proud to continue our partnership with Diamond Nation.
Through a series of community events, equipment collection opportunities, and on-site engagement throughout the season, Diamond Nation is helping us connect with players and families who believe every child deserves the opportunity to play.
We’re grateful to Diamond Nation for helping us raise awareness, collect equipment, and create opportunities for young athletes throughout the summer.
Put Extra Gear Back In Play This Summer
We’re hosting a Saturday Drop-Off and Volunteer Event on July 18th, and we’d love for our community to pitch in.
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, teams, companies, and community groups to donate gently used baseball and softball equipment or volunteer time to help us sort and prepare gear for young athletes.
Every glove, bat, helmet, and pair of cleats can help remove barriers and give more kids the chance to step onto the field with confidence.
To schedule an equipment drop-off or learn more about volunteering, please contact jack.clancy@pifbs.org.
The first piece of equipment can be the start of something much bigger
In Nigeria, 8-year-old Onanefe, affectionately known as "Small Lion," has become a memorable part of the Zuma Baseball/Softball program. His energy, determination, and love for the game quickly made him stand out among his peers.
Alongside a group of friends from the same school, Onanefe joined the program to learn a sport that was entirely new to many of them. For these young athletes, picking up a baseball bat, glove, or helmet for the first time created an immediate sense of excitement and belonging.
The coaching team is now working toward bringing the program directly into the school community, helping reduce transportation barriers while creating greater access for more children to participate.
At Pitch In For Baseball & Softball, we see stories like this around the world. Access to equipment and opportunity helps young people build confidence, develop new skills, and discover what is possible through sport.
